I had a feeling it wouldn’t last when I started struggling on Day 10 but in the end it was Sundance that truly killed my 365 project. But that’s okay. Failure is acceptable. Plus, I have a published article so it is not so bad. Will still write up my likes here and there but put a little less pressure on myself to write a post every single day. Have a few posts coming in during the next few weeks that I failed to pitch in time for other outlets so will just add them here.
Another day, another short(er) post. This time it is because I am on a flight to Utah headed to Sundance and I have a raging headache, can’t find my Advil and there is a cute but occasionally screechy child directly behind me. Film festival life is something something. Anyway today’s subject is a film score that has gotten me through many a rough moment, the score from 2005’s Pride and Prejudice, composed by Dario Marianelli.
You guys are just going to learn all of my favorite songs at this point. Life keeps me busy. Today’s song is “Losing You” by Solange.
Hey, so I promised some Lianne La Havas so here we go. For Day 14, I have decided to make good on my promise to feature the extremely talented and beautiful Lianne La Havas.
Life is just really busy guys, I will do better tomorrow, I promise. But here is another wonderful jam. This song speaks to my soul, I feel like I have one of these days every 2 to 3 days. Sigh, life of an introvert. Today’s item is the song “Don’t Take It Personal” by Monica. Monica was such an It Girl, I would sing along to her songs and think I was hot shit. Her voice is so good and she is so unsung. It is a bloody shame. She was putting grown singers to shame with her vocals at 16. This is just one of her iconic hits.
So I lied. Today is another short one but it is a goodie. This appeared on Corinne Bailey Rae’s “The Love” EP and it is 14 minutes of pure magic. Her cover of “Que Sera Sera” is majestic.
So I totally forgot about this so this is rushed and will be another short one but one of my favorite songs is “Lost and Found” by Lianne La Havas. I just like sad things. I will do Lianne La Havas as a full thing tomorrow with a bit about why I love this song though I honestly don’t truly really understand why. It is like Sally Sparrow says in the Doctor Who episode “Blink”; sad is like happy for deep people. Or something. Anyway here it is below. Enjoy. Sort of. It’s a lot. It is actually my favorite of her songs though.
